Area Schools

Children who reside in Hunters Creek attend public schools in the Northeast Independent School District (NEISD).Schools that serve our neighborhood residents include Oak Meadow ElementaryJackson Middle School, and Winston Churchill High School.

Military families with school age children who are transferring in and out of the area should browse NEISD’s Military Family information page, which includes links to a variety of Joint Base San Antonio resources and contacts for DoD personnel.  The drive from Hunters Creek to any of the three major bases (JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, JBSA-Lackland, or JBSA-Randolph) is a short 12 to 15 miles.

And if you are interested in other options for education, a quick Google search will provide you with a significant number of other schools close by, including charter schools and others sponsored by community or religious groups.

Neighborhood Organizations

The Hunters Creek Neighborhood Association is a volunteer organization whose members contribute their time and money to support the maintenance of our common areas, including the perimeter wall along Lockhill Selma, the main entrance, and several planting islands. Membership fees also fund the delivery of other services not found in many neighborhoods, such as this Website, a Newsletter, a Directory, and security patrols by off-duty law enforcement personnel.
The Hunters Creek Pet Registry is sponsored by the Association and run by a volunteer who assists owners of lost pets by putting them in touch with neighbors who have found pets. Pet owners can improve the chances of a quick recovery by submitting information to the Pet Registry in advance to aid in identifying their pet quickly when they wander off.
The Hunters Creek Swim and Racquet Club is a separate non-profit group which operates facilities for swimming, tennis, and a really cool playground for the use of Club members and their guests. In addition to a Junior Olympic swimming pool and six lighted tennis courts (two also support pickleball), there is a Clubhouse available to rent for parties, meetings, etc. The Club hosts an active community Swim Team and a playground for younger families and is a gathering place for many community events. On Election Day, our neighborhood votes at the Club as it is the official polling location for residents of Hunters Creek.
